Geographical Location
New York is located on the east coast of the United States in the New York Bay on the mouths of the Hudson River and East Rivers in the Atlantic. The city with the geographical coordinates 40.42 degrees north latitude and 74.00 degrees west longitude is an average of six metres above sea level, in direct proximity to Jersey City. The center is located on the island of Manhattan, the rock as a pointed tongue between Hudson and East River.
